Week of February 24th

We will take a break from reading the novel on Monday and Tuesday to discuss chapters 3-6.  Be sure to be ready for a reading quiz on Monday over chapters 4-6.

Here is the schedule:

Monday: reading quiz, prep for discussion, watch movie
Tuesday: *right word notes* mini Socratic seminars, finish movie if needed
Wednesday: read chapters 7-8
Thursday: read chapters 9-10
Friday: *right word quiz* read chapter 11

New Unit: Their Eyes Were Watching God

The research projects are graded and we started the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston last Friday in class.

So far, the graded assignments have been:

1.  Chapter 1 Close Read
2.  Chapter 1 Socratic Seminar
3.  Their Eyes Packet (study guide, terms, vocab)

Here is the tentative schedule for next week:

Monday: reading quiz, discuss chapters 1-3
Tuesday: grammar notes, read chapter 4
Wednesday: vocab quiz, read chapter 5
Thursday: grammar notes, read chapter 6
Friday: grammar quiz, finish chapter 6 [reading and questions for 4-6 due MONDAY]

Be sure to keep up with reading!
